Jessica Burke has a forthcoming essay on “The Reader and the Text in Carmen Boullosa’s Fragmented Narratives,” to be published in the Modern Language Association’s Options for Teaching Series Series as part of the book Teaching the Narrative of Mexicana and Chicana Writers. In July, she will present a talk on “Narrative Dissent in Rosario Ferre’s Maldito Amor” at the 102nd Annual Conference of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, to be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
